Claude André Glass

Welcomes you.

Claude André – Fused Glass-I’m originally from Eastern France, I lived many years in England and have now has made Bussiere-Poitevine my home.

My passion is to make fused glass objects using sheets of opaque and transparent glass. I cut the pieces and assemble them before firing in my kiln at 900°C. I use coloured glass along with frit (crushed glass) and enamel as my palette, these are carefully assembled and fused in a kiln in stages to build up the images. Some pieces will require several firings. Shaped items for example bowls and standing curves are fired again on a mould to create the shape.
